Battlefield Hardline – Community’s Most Wanted List

It’s been about a week since the Battlefield Hardline beta has come to a close, and as Steve said last week we want to thank everyone who took part. Even though the beta was just a small taste of the complete package we plan to deliver with Hardline, the amount of feedback we got from players around the world has been incredible and will help ensure we make Hardline a better game when it launches this October.

BFHL_Blog-640x360

That’s why we’re happy to introduce you to the CMW – the Community’s Most Wanted. This is where we will outline some of the fixes and improvements we are making to Battlefield Hardline based on feedback we received during the beta and what we’re hearing from you. Yes, we are listening!

Below are just a few things from the beta that we’ve learned and the changes we’ve already put into the game we play every day here.

1. MOVEMENT:
There was a lot of feedback about slow movement speed and feeling “sluggish”.  We’ve increased player speed by 10%, and players will get a +10% bonus for running with your pistol out.  It feels much faster now!

2. SUPPRESSION:
There were a lot of negative comments about the camera “bounce” when suppressed.  We’ve changed the way suppression works – your aimpoint is no longer affected, but your situational awareness is.

3. SURVIVALIST:
We’ve heard both sides of the argument on the Survivalist gadget, it is pretty polarizing.  Some of you hate it, some of you love it – either way, we agree it was overpowered.  We’ve changed it to revive you at 1 health and auto-inject after 5 seconds.

4. HIGH TENSION – CRANE CAMERA SHAKE:
A number of people called out the camera shake from this event as being too over the top.  We’re tuning this down.

5. HIGH TENSION – STAIRS IN HIGH TENSION BUG:
Stairs in High Tension should no longer pull players into the wall.

6. ELEVATED OBJECTIVES:
We’ve added some feedback to help you find the objective when it’s above or below you.

7. SPECIAL VEHICLES:
We’re working on adding more special drivable vehicles like the Fuel Truck into all maps.  We’re also working on a handbrake for cars.

8. STUCK VEHICLES:
We’re working on the ability to “nudge” vehicles with a melee attack to help get them unstuck or to be able to move past them.  No promises, but the early prototype looks promising!

9. HEAVY VEHICLE DAMAGE:
We’ve added “weak spots” in the rear of the heavily armored vehicles, making it much easier to bring them down!

10. VEHICLE OCCUPANT LIST:
We’re working on adding the Bag Carrier icon to the list of teammates inside your vehicle, so that you can tell when the bag carrier gets in your vehicle.

This dialogue doesn’t end with the beta. We plan on continuing this from now until launch – and beyond. So come back to the site to check in and see the latest CMW lists and to voice your opinion. We will be revealing a ton of new multiplayer details including new maps, new modes, gadgets and our single player campaign – we want to hear your feedback!

Thanks,
Thad Sasser

    Some suggestion for future additions.

1; An option where the squad leader tells his squad mates to have “sealed lips.” The result would be that an interrogation doesn’t work on them. The animation could be something like the spit in the cops face and then the cop shoots him or the robbers draws his side arm and kills himself. The squad leader would have to tell his squad every life of his. This would counter-act the slight OPness of the command by playing on the squad leaders lazyness.

2: This one plays along the lines of the alligators. There would large attack animals; like tigers, bears, elephants, and lions. they would the pets of a drug lord. The BFH game would play well with a war on drugs DLC. The map would most likely be the head quarters of the cartel, there would also weapons stashes in an armory style room. The criminals can strategically release the animals to maul or trample the cops. but if the cops release them they will get “humanitarian points” for safe treatment of the animals.

people dont really think about previous gen consoles such as ps3 and xbox 360. people dont know that having 24 players max in a lobby is not enough. Next gen has 64 layers, us previous gen players will be hapy if we at least had 44 players in total, this will prevent us from not being to find people due to the map size. iits not enough having only 24 players in total

Please please please can we have better functionality when selecting classes. Firstly, players should be able to have at least 3 different set ups per class, enabling the player to adapt quickly to the battlefield. This should be accessibly in game, not on a mobile app. I use the mobile app for Battlefield 4, and whilst it could do with some improvements, it really does speed things up! If you were to give non premium members at least 3 set up options per class, then I would expect 5-6 per class for premium members. On Battlefield 4, as a premium member, 4 set ups per class is not enough. If you want players to explore and try new things, give them the opportunity to make more choices, rather than sticking with ‘old faithful’ and making the game repetitive. Cheers.

Only have 1 suggestion here, and it may be ripping off payday 2 a bit, however, it would make the game a hell of a lot better. You guys need to add narrative to multiplayer. What I mean by this, is instead of the match starting after the bank heist has been completed and there already getting away when the match starts, the match starts before the bank heist even starts, and the robbers have to enter a bank full of NPC’s and they have to get the money and such while mass panic happens between the NPC’s, (it is downtown LA, make it appear as such). Then once the robbers have all the money and are about to make the breakaway (make it so most, not all, NPC’s are gone, again make it look lively like LA) the opposing side (the cops) will start the huge battle with robbers. It would add a lot more elements into the MP and would make it a lot more fun after playing the beta myself, it is needed in order to make multiplayer more enjoyable. Just my two cents.

  • AdLucem_Chris 07.16.14 at 23:07

1.Vehicle dynamic damage system (only shooting at the engine can blow up or stop the car).
2.Entering and exiting vehicles animation,is a fresh idea, bringing realism, and requiring from the player thinking and planning before using any vehicle.
3.BF4 had poor recoil system and bad reload animations.I hope things change here.
4.More life in the maps and more novelties in game modes,so that gameplay gets immersive and interactive.Example:civilians in some maps, modes with limited spawns and tactics involved even bofore the game starts, like true heists,or epic prison breaks…that’s what will make the game feel fresh.
5.Teamwork must be a thing here, and the game must promote it and use it in every way possible.
6.Guns and gadgets must make sense in a battlefield (I wouldn’t expect robbers owning the most expensive military gadgets or guns,or even the cops. Also i wouldn’t expect to see cops in the middle of the road with rpgs.)
7.Damage on buildings was lacking from the beta….
8.The classes should change. They don’t make sense at all like that and they make the game feel like BF4.Many combinations could make sense in a way that the classes help each other, make sense in a cops and robbers theme and fit the maps and the modes,so that everyplayer finds his own way to play and get better.(Not necessarily by getting many kills).

    Visceral Games,

I have liked Battlefield Hardline from the first moment in which I saw it and on having played the Beta much more, it is obvious that it is a Beta, but it seems to me that the suits are slightly incomplete and simple ( obviously in the first-person camera ), I would like to suggest to add a watch in the wrist of every agent of all the classes, they are details that are grateful if they are added, for that in the end we play with two arms and a weapon, it will give him one more touch of Policemen and Thieves of L.A.

I do these suggestions in order that it has in the list “suits”, I will be grateful for it very much and many players too ( More details in the suits).

Then I suggest to modify the suits of the following classes:

    Cops: Operator and Profesional.
    Criminals: Operator, Enforcer and Profesional.

Finally I would like to suggest to modify the way of taking the hilt.

I hope that there are also several camouflages for the weapon that it is something that i like much Battlefield, and certainly camouflages for every agent.

A greeting and very much spirit, you are doing an excellent work improving the feedback and insurance that in October we will have an incredible Battlefield

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.11.14 at 20:26

Never mind I read a comment below mine

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.11.14 at 20:21

I never played BFH beta, but is the weapon unlocking system the same as BF4 where you got to get kills to unlock the new weapons and complete assignments to unlock them or is it something different? If it is different someone please tell me.

  • Haywoot 07.10.14 at 12:38

I thought I’d throw in my two cents even if nobody agrees with me (copied from BF4 off-topic forums).

I’ll start of with the things I hated about in the Beta:

    1) Identical factions: the same guns, the same gadgets and the same vehicles (what they do, not what they look like)
    2) Absurd weaponry in a cops vs. robbers game: robbers wielding Stingers and LAPD SWAT rolling with RPG-7s
    3) Absurd amount of destruction (and death) in a cops vs. robbers game: robbers causing millions of dollars of damage to the city for a few million bucks
    4) The whole unlocking gear by leveling and then buying it -system: I think it’s a good thing trying something else, but I think they need to think it over
    5) It feels too much similar to BF4: running and gunning mechanics, levolution and other stuff

I think the dev team should try to steer the game to a less absurd direction and make both factions unique, not the same. When I’m gonna go bag some robbers/terrorists/thugs in a game, I want to be rocking the latest high-tech equipment and weapons to do it neatly and effectively. In the opposite, when I’m gonna go stealing (in a game) millions of bucks of unmarked bills, gold or something else while the SWAT is firing up my ass, I wanna play dirty with molotov cocktails, pipebombs, pimped up old-school weaponry and all kinds of improvised gear. Drop the Stingers from the game and make Scout Helicopters more vulnerable to gunfire from heavier caliber firearms and the Transportation Helicopters more cumbersome so people can shoot them with RPGs or other black market rocket launchers. Tone down the levolution, so that it happens more by accident, not by players triggering it to destroy a city block. Also try making close quarters combat (especially indoors) more exhilarating and fun, not such a frantic mess it has been in earlier BF installments (IMHO).

I noticed I started to write this like I’m thinking someone from the Visceral dev team would pick it up and read it, but yeah if someone from there should read this, then I hope you can really try to make something truly new and possibly even revolutionary, not the same “Battlefeeling” stuff we’re already enjoying (more or less) on BF4.

    (Best regards, Haywoot)

  • Zaro27 07.10.14 at 07:58

I’d like some controls for server owners to be able to dictate what weapons can and can’t be used so they can create game-types. Also, if you do it, you should obviously put in a way to tell what’s not allowed on what servers. It’d be nice to have.

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 06:07

Normally it takes 5 seconds like that, but sometimes when I get killed im waiting like a minute and I never spawned in yet I’m looking at the kill cam of the guy that killed me 4 ever

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 06:03

Also fix the horrible never ending kill cam, I hate that and I don’t want it in hardline, I would like.a patch in bf4 on xbox 1.

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 02:48

What we need is a zombies mode and you can have up to 64 players and your all in between a big wall, like the wall of China and there’s a big map with endless coming waves of zombies, so everyone needs to survive and it will be close to CoD zombies but not really and you will be able to use anything 4 free and you can pick up things. So then the total amount of 10 waves and the first wave will have 2000 zombies coming at you and it gives you 200 more each wave and at extra wave there will be 100,000 zombies and buildings will be falling and where you at you and you can use your grappling hook to fly around and kill them. It will be like titanfall in away and yeah that’s it. Most likely won’t happen but whatever, or like have 64 players with grappling hooks and ziplines and other weapons and there will be a wave of 1 million zombies but they come from the corners of the massive map and you got to kill them all.

  • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 02:03

Get rid of the glitches and if not make sure you make a patch so they can’t

  • Kitsune Jimmy 07.08.14 at 18:01

Bulletproof windows on all of the vehicals makes it impossible to shoot someone out of the drivers seat or anyone else in there. Please fix it so the windows can be broken. Also I know this one might not be going anywhere but the biggest problem i have with Battlefield is the extremely slow muzzle velocities on the weapons in accordance with the size of the maps. Low velocity bullets really only works well on smaller maps, but when bigger maps come out, you have to aim way further ahead of the target than you should.

Also, I agree with Freedom20050, the M4A1 and/or the M4 Carbine should really be in the game. Most officers, Police and higher, do carry M4′s. Team specific weaponry would also be really cool. Helps with the emersion and makes the two teams feel more different than eachother.

Also, PLEASE take your time and don’t rush this one. Battlefield 4 was really rushed and they didnt listen to the community and it really killed the game for a lot of people, ths game has a lot of potential.

    • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 02:51

Maybe or there’s way to many haters in the world

  • krukornik 07.08.14 at 12:32

Get rid of stingers/lock on missiles?
Don’t think cops/criminals have access to those.

P.S I really enjoyed the beta and the game has a lot of potential.

  • krukornik 07.08.14 at 12:30

  • Freedom20050 07.07.14 at 20:27

Also the compact 45. It should not have a chrome slide because the US does not use that on it Streamline here. As a attachment or camo that would be cool. So we can change it to full black or Chrome if we want. for all pistols so nobody feels left out. If i am outdoors in a engagement if someone sees my bright chrome side arm i will stick out like a sore arm and I will be found easily. Which is why most cops don;t use chrome colored side arms. Criminals on the other hand they get whatever they can afford. No matter what it looks like, If it works they will use it.

  • Freedom20050 07.07.14 at 20:20

I think they should put the M4A1 in As well as the M16A3 due to the fact this is more used by SWAT and police forces in the US. I could be wrong but it is always seen in the news today. The M16A3 is too long for indoor environments but M16A3 should still be in the game. But the M4A1 seems more practical to use in this type of game style. That could be why the G36C but that is not used by the US that much. The M4A1 is used with cops more on patrols because it is compact, accurate, fast shooter, and highly customizable to whatever environment you need it for.

  • nAtEtHeGrEaT6666 07.07.14 at 18:11

I think that in the gamemode Heist that the bomb carrier icon needs to be scaled down and made more transparent as there is the same problem in this game as there is in the Battlefield 4 gamemode obliteration which is the icon is so large you cannot see the actual player you are shooting. Also it acts like wall hacks and the same fix in Battlefield Hardline as there is in Battlefield 4 CTE would be nice.

  • murphyj 07.05.14 at 17:56

The one thing I was hoping for was that carrying the moneybags slowed you down, but gave you protection from most caliber weapons if shot from behind. That’s a probably too large of a change, but to me that’s what would have made hardline more interesting.

  • HishametsU1 07.05.14 at 14:36

Make Sure You Add Conquest in BF HardLine ( All New Conquest ) !
Weapons To Add in BF Hard Line :

More and More Ideas by ( The BF Community ) :D

And PLEASE AND PLEASE If that Could happen Please make an WWI or WWII or Vietnam expansion Pack for BF Hardline and add more WWI or WWII Weapons !!
    Thanks DICE LA !!!!

  • YumBumJaffa 07.04.14 at 21:31

Get rid of bulletproof glass maybe? I love the game overall and I can’t wait for the full release!

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 15:41

I agree. Or allow certain calibers to shoot through vehicle glass. It would be a nice touch if maybe sniper rifles could shoot through (not DMRs though, please don’t encourage DMR use like in BF4. DMRs are only used by snipers with no skill so that they can shoot a ton a bullets around you missing, making all you hear PEW EPW PEWO PEW EPW PEW).

  • Ra1tzU 07.04.14 at 12:58

it would be awesome if you can jump into any car you find in the map and give police defibs and criminals epi-pen and criminals something else non.lethal takedown becouse it´s kind of funny when criminal can handcuff a police and game sounds are way too quiet examlbe helicopter lock on sound, footsteps and explovises and more destruction and give engineer road spike gadjet so they can place it on road and if vehicle drives over it disables or something like that and more weapons that only other side can use (criminals AK and cops M16)

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 15:53

Wow. You managed to use one period and one comma in that entire paragraph. Remember how you used to say that English class was stupid and that all you were going to do was smoke weed and be happy? It may be time to go get your GED and take a different approach on life.

  • XSamTheAssassinX 07.04.14 at 10:12

In the beta, I didn’t see as much destruction as I would like. I’m assuming and praying that this will be added and/or approved. Also, I think that the engineer class should be changed around a little. Give them road spikes and make them disable it if it’s run over, but easily shot and destroyed. remove the RPG, it doesn’t fit the theme or the maps. Faction exclusive guns are an idea that could work. Maybe the robbers have access to an AK and the cops get an m4 or something, and both weapons perform different and have little perks for using them, such as increased movement speed. The player models are a little hard to distinguish. These are just little suggestionsbut I think that overall, the beta was an amazing experience and a great thing for the games.

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 16:21

I agree with all of this except the RPG.. RPGs fit the role of a criminal much more than an RPG in the hands of a cop. Buuuuuut there needs to be balance also, so the cops would need one too (or something similar – definitely WITHOUT a locking on mechanism though). I do think they’re necessary in gameplay because of the amount of vehicles (and the amount of weak vehicles at that! It’s the engineer’s role to fix and blow up vehicles – and to do that he needs tools ;)

  • x_3rik_x 07.04.14 at 09:36

where can i give my feedback?
i wrote a big text, but now i can’t find the forum on battlelog :(

  • xXx_Roscoe_xXx 07.04.14 at 01:29

The game is perfect dont change a thing move the release up is my only suggestion

  • oSLG 07.04.14 at 00:35

    PLEASE remove survivalist..

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 16:14

PLEASE DON’T GET PEER PRESSURED into removing it! It’s a fantastic feature I think. It forced people to pay closer attention to detail to listen for someone yelling “I’m not quite dead yet!” Seriously, it creates a challenge for players.

I’ve heard a ton of people tell me that they like the revive mechanic in BF3 more even though it allowed infinite revives – it’s kind of the same thing, it seems overpowered, but if you want to keep people enjoying the game you need to offer something that gives them a second or even third chance at staying alive. This hugely promoted teamwork. Obviously the difficult task in development is engineering these specific mechanics to benefit people that suck without giving good players an enormous advantage… USAS frag? Last stand martyrdom in Call of Duty? Support players sitting on unlimited ammo boxes tossing grenades?

In most cases, good players will probably equip something else anyway because they may feel they’re good enough to equip something else in its place instead. Think about how much it offers to someone joining a server without any buddies, or how much it offers when you’re pissed off because medics are standing on your dead body but not reviving. How many times do smurfs pick you back up? Sorry, that was a long rant about epi pens.

  • sBRObertsARG 07.03.14 at 23:11

I have an xbox one so I didn’t get to play the BETA yet, but I have seen numerous youtube videos of the gameplay and I was just hoping that you would add some kind of leadership communication. Be able to talk from squad leader to squad leader by holding down a button as you talk or be able to say a command to the Kinect to channel over to another squad leader and then say “Alpha out” (or something like that) to end your communication with the other SL. It’d just be nice to see multiple squads work together instead of just one squad doing their own thing. I completely understand that you can use TeamSpeak or Ventrillo on the PC but I’d like to see that option on the Xbox One.

Thanks for all of the hard work and the attention you’re giving to our feedback!

  • DMX007 07.03.14 at 21:55

Remove survivalist and make good TDM maps like Noshahr Canals(BF3).

  • Thy Majestie 07.03.14 at 21:42

Well some of those issues that are fixed are what I found annoying in the game. I’m glad to see we’ll be able to move slightly faster. And the stairs bug is fixed. I also felt that we did have far too much camera shake when the crane went down. I could barely tell what I was looking at.

I do have a few concerns now, though.
I’m in the CTE for BF4 and I’m curious as to whether any of the changes for that will be implemented in the upcoming game before (or after) release. Like, the separate sensitivity for the ADS so that we can now have both speeds how we like.

And also, one slight annoying thing in the CTE is that the “Accept revive” is now being done with the spacebar. I don’t use the WASD keys at all. So it’s not good to have to press space and them quickly get my hands back on the keys before I get shot more.

I’ve no idea if this is going to be changed in BF4 after the CTE is done, but I’m hoping it’s not going to be released in BF:H. I’d prefer a choice of keys for the player to choose what they want as Accept/Deny revive, if anything. These seem to be the only things that’s hard-coded in the game. I don’t see what was wrong with the left and right mouse button. I’ve been told that people could accept a revive with the spacebar already, but now they’ve taken out the mouse button from doing it.

  • TheDiaperButtKid 07.03.14 at 21:13

Didn’t play the beta out of pure DICE/EA spite, but I am happy to see a developer showing DICE how the community feedback/developer relationship can make a game great. Keep it up, and I may even give you some money for it.

  • PillowSamurai 07.03.14 at 21:04

First of all, I wanted to say the beta was very fun.

My improvements would be the two following areas:

    1) Spawn vehicles in/near bases, especially in Blood Money
The spawn camping/spawn attacking was crazy in BM because people would park their spawn trucks next to the vault and constantly steal money. I found this to be unfun, and when abused it often degraded the gameplay. It often either led to one team winning very shortly after the round began (in my experience, the enemy team) or one team losing due to their constant assault (spawn camping) and not focusing on the objective in the middle (in my experience, this was my team :P)

I am not opposed to the idea of being able to steal from the other team’s vault; I find that a nice dynamic that adds strategy. However, I think there should be a restricted area around the vault for spawn vehicles, or some way that slowly damages spawn vehicles until they explode (such as the gunship in BF4 – when the enemy team captures the point it loses health until it despawns)

    2) This is more of a “pet peeve” if you will — I think the police’s vehicles should have the flashing lights / siren in sync, because in the beta the lights would complete the animation of flashing, then there would be 5 or so second delay until they flashed again, even if the siren was on constantly. This isn’t by any means top priority, but I think it would increase immersion if the lights flashed continuously, or had a shorter time between flash sequences.

Thanks if you read this comment, and keep up the improvements. I think Hardline can be a nice addition to the BF franchise if the improvements keep rolling in!

  • ERICJSANTANA 07.03.14 at 20:38

I would like to see a different look on the classes I feel like I cannot tell a difference between each class not knowing if I should run up to them to grab ammo or health like in bf4 one knows what a medic or support looks like I would like to see different character models for each class

  • HellcatM 07.03.14 at 20:23

    “1. MOVEMENT:
There was a lot of feedback about slow movement speed and feeling “sluggish”. We’ve increased player speed by 10%, and players will get a +10% bonus for running with your pistol out. It feels much faster now! ”

I read this and at first I didn’t really hit me, but as I thought about it more it just doesn’t make sense. So now you’re carrying a high powered gun and you’re going to be sprinting around like your an Olympic athlete? Why not instead of listening to the mass teens who want to run around shooting people get a technical adviser and get this straight. Then instead of doing what these people want (which is you to make just another run and gun game) you can tell them that you talk to someone who knows what they’re talking about and you’re not going to change it (or you’re going to change it but some players…especially holding a rocket launcher) will move slower. The weight of what you’re carrying in your loadout should contribute to your speed. You carry a light gun, you can run faster, if you carry a heavy gun you run shower. People who want to run fast in a game just want to use no real tactics, just run shoot, kill, die and repeat. A game with tactics players should play with their brains as well as skill.

So many games out that lean toward running and gunning instead of using real tactics that let the players use their brains and take things a little slower to scope out the situation. I know this is a video game, but there are so many that are like this in a technical standpoint that maybe a change is due?

Plus Imagine how hard it is going to be for snipers to hit moving targets.

      • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 02:11

Well snipers need skill, they can’t go out there and start shooting Willy nilly

  • Sl1m_L5zy141 07.03.14 at 20:19

Mechanic class has been made useless due to small arms fire damaging vehicles. Maybe swap this with a demolition expert or even a detective mode?

  • Carnage9418 07.03.14 at 20:14

Visceral please change the sprint animation, that’s what made the sprinting seem sluggish and slow. Also please change the Police/Swat’s uniforms. They don’t look like SWAT, it looks like they have painted gear on, not actual clothing/vest/balaclava(mask). Also you should add customization to your Terrorist and SWAT member if possible. If not at least make the SWAT look like actual SWAT, whoever designed them made them look like a cartoon and ridiculous. Bad models deteriorate the experience.

  • ShavedApe 07.03.14 at 20:08

The survivalist perk just removes the chance that youll ever get a revive because 99.9% of players running as medic (i forgot their name) will simply choose self revive.
Its hard enough promoting team play as it is now its gonna be even harder.

  • AngryDave-UK 07.03.14 at 19:50

These changes sound good except for the adhd run n’ gun anti-teamplay kiddie pandering of point 1. Really didn’t need faster movement. All this talk about the cops and criminals theme not making sense because they are using military weapons etc, yet most people want sprinting like Rex Power Colt?

  • tG_ChinaRep 07.03.14 at 19:30

Get rid of the survivalist perk please, or at least explain how it benefits the gameplay. All it seems to do is boost players’ KDR without actually adding anything relevant to the game. In fact, it takes away from the gameplay. Instead of using a gadget like the medpack or revive pin that helps their team, they’re using something that only helps themselves. In addition, it punishes skilled players (who kill more than they die) and rewards bad players (who die more than they kill) which is something that should never be a part of competitive multiplayer game.

  • iSprayBF 07.03.14 at 18:48

How about actually using the frostbite engine for destruction like Bad Company 2? Heck why not a Bad Company 3.

  • iSprayBF 07.03.14 at 18:47

    How

    Visceral Games,

I have liked Battlefield Hardline Beta from the first moment in which I saw it and on having played the thread much more, it is obvious that it is a Beta, but it seems to me that the suits are slightly incomplete, I would like to suggest to add a watch in the wrist of every agent of all the classes, it will give him one more touch of Policemen and Thieves of L.A.

I hope that there are also several camouflages for the weapon that it is something that i like much Battlefield, and certainly camouflages for every agent.

A greeting and very much spirit, you are doing an excellent work improving the feedback and insurance that in October we will have an incredible Battlefield.

  • Hundhest 07.03.14 at 17:47

Will there be more gadgets in the full game?

    • TrueGamer739 07.03.14 at 17:57

Yes! what we experience was just a “beta” a small taste of the game

  • TrueGamer739 07.03.14 at 17:31

a lot of people are talking about shooting out the tires out of the cars, that’s kinda dumb cuz everyone is obviously easily capable of doing that, if that ends up in the game it’ll reach a point where no cars other than armoured vehicles are drivable. I think there should be a vehicle upgrade where u can have bullet proof tires and have only certain types of bullet rounds other than the standard ‘NATO’ be able to penetrate it. or instead the upgraded to be able to take more hits. I also think the mechanic needs to be reworked and given something like a Patch kit where he could re-inflate shot tires, it will be somethings new to battlefield and the mechanic

  • TheStickNik 07.03.14 at 17:21

Field of view changes wouldn’t affect the first person field of view in vehicles. Eg. If you had increased fov and got into a car to drive, it noticeably narrows and makes it odd to play.

  • MegaBmin 07.03.14 at 17:12

why wasn’t the beta on xbox 360 and xbox one, and is the new beta coming to xbox 360 and xbox one?

    • TrueGamer739 07.03.14 at 17:21

Why doesn’t COD updates n DLC’s come out first on playstation? its because of contracts and licences, same as Destiny with playstation. just be patient bro

  • Player_vneuvmh3 07.03.14 at 17:10

Another problem with the Survivalist (besides the fact you can revive yourself) is the fact that it discourages teamwork. IMO, it shouldn’t be in the game at all, but if it has too be, please combine the survivalist with the regular revive pen so that people who choose the survivalist can still and are encouraged to revive teammates.

  • RaZar_RaZor 07.03.14 at 16:58

I think that when the player use the zipline he should be able to use one handed weapons (such as the UZI, pistols, etc.)

    • TrueGamer739 07.03.14 at 17:21

this is actually a really really sweet idea bro, never thought of it

      • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 16:33

Similarly, I always wanted in any Battlefield game the ability to fire your gun while falling, no matter what. It is just so badass to even think about doing, even if it’s only limited to a one handed sidearm, jumping out of a heli or plane by an enemy player falling near you and shooting him in the air. It’d be like Point Break!

  • SMJ_cuba_AMS 07.03.14 at 16:25

An issue i had was when the crane was falling and i was piloting the helicopter my camera would also shake. I dont think people should get penalized while they are im the air.

  • COOJO253 07.03.14 at 16:18

I think small arms fire does to much damage to weaker cars. I think you should be able to shoot out tires or disable engines but the explosion happens to quick. In most cops vs robbers shoot outs, squad cars are used as cover and that’s how it should be in game also. My idea would be to make a small hit placement for the gas tank, this triggers a slight explosion wounding badly who ever is inside, eventually killing them if they don’t get out. Then also allowing for all four tires to be shot out and a couple small hit points on the engine that would immobilize the vehicle completely. In this way, if your car is stopped it still can be used as cover and it’s not a 30 round insta-death. RPGs, high caliber weapons and explosive devices should be the only things that really destroy cars.

By the way, great job on your hard work and keep it up!

    • Player_vneuvmh3 07.03.14 at 17:14

I really like this idea. Well, I don’t think it should be a problem if third rounds straight into the hood of a sedan blows it up almost instantly (as protection against being run over), but it would be nice if shooting anywhere else (other than the tires, which could disable it) didn’t do any or much vehicle damage at all, especially shooting the glass (which currently does damage apparently).

  • DogTagsUk 07.03.14 at 16:16

    1. MOVEMENT:
There was a lot of feedback about slow movement speed and feeling “sluggish”. We’ve increased player speed by 10%, and players will get a +10% bonus for running with your pistol out. It feels much faster now!

Does that include changing the way the sprint animation looks because the beta all weapons other then pistol all felt strange when sprinting forwards and give this feeling of walking in 0 gravity ,So as that changed if so then i may buy if not then no sale ..

  • GOUDAHELL 07.03.14 at 16:04

Hey, could you please fix up the glitchy feeling when you crash cars into parked cars on the side, and stuff. Also the bike, can feel like it gets stuck on every wall. Great work on the improvement on vehicles so far, they are much better than past titles.

  • GOUDAHELL 07.03.14 at 15:52

I think once all the game mechanics are suited, you should take some time to change some of the aesthetic things.

One of the things i noticed when playing was a lot of aspects were borrowed from BF4. I suggest, changing some props, kill cam visuals, menu layout, general fonts. This will make the game appear to be more fresh.

I would also like to see character model overhauls. At the moment, the character models aren’t too great. How about some real badass SWAT police guys, who look like they are pretty decked out with body armor. And as for the criminals, they need to look like they are some real professional robbers and murders and what not, they need to seem more professional and need to be more easily distinguishable between classes. If it isn’t too much trouble maybe you can change the dialogue to make them seem like they are leaning slightly to the evil criminal, one that robs places and kills cops.

  • tG_ChinaRep 07.03.14 at 15:30

Get rid of the survivalist perk please, or at least explain how it benefits the gameplay. All it seems to do is boost players’ KDR without actually adding anything relevant to the game.

  • Turkeylegs156 07.03.14 at 15:28

The mechanic class should definitely get changed. A SWAT officer with an RPG is pretty fucking ridiculous. really the Mechanic class should have a complete overhaul from past Battlefield titles, as we are now dealing with a different setting for the game, in which an Engineer of Mechanic won’t be using an RPG. The class honestly needs to be changed, as now all classes have the means to take out a vehicle with a primary weapon, for example the AKM destroys a car in one magazine. The class should have a different feel to it, with different more authentic gadgets, like spike strips to disable vehicles by taking out their wheels, and so on. I really hope this is seen and I’m agreed with

    • GOUDAHELL 07.03.14 at 15:58

i agree with the gadgets but you forget that criminals who are taking on a police force would use RPGs to take out cops cars. But you cant have RPGs for just one side or it imbalanced, also, RPGs are needed to take out helicopters, bearcats, and perhaps, make it easier to one shot a fast moving vehicle.

      • Turkeylegs156 07.03.14 at 23:37

I also understand this, but I think RPGs for both sides it a bit ridiculous honestly, and I’m all for removing the bear car really. I think the mechanic is useless, really, and should be changed to a completely different set up for a completely different game theme.

    • HellcatM 07.03.14 at 20:09

I agree, I actually think like movies, video game devs should have technical advisers that they can call to get certain facts straight. What weapons a police force would actually use, how hard would it be to jump, run and shoot at the same time, etc.

  • DancoStar 07.03.14 at 15:17

Some ideas for better gaming exp?
    1. Visceral please add animation when player is planting bomb or defusing this will add more tactical and cooperation with other players because they will need to cover player which is planting or defusing that bomb. I hate it when I can plant the bomb and also shoot.. It is stupid. Also animation will be good when player is taking money
    2. Please enable also other cars to take for ride. Why you have in maps cars that you can’t drive and only use it for cover.. not good…
    3. Why when I am shooting to tires nothing happened? Why not shoot tires which will slow down car or bike??

    THX

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 16:34

So you want every single car in the game to have the keys in the ignition?

  • GodIsDead91 07.03.14 at 15:04

Hey visceral while i was playing the recent beta i noticed that the vehicles feel a bit weight-less and very easy to turn or accelerate really fast

it would be nice if you guys tweaked that :)

  • BatmanLugter 07.03.14 at 14:35

I think that the professional class should have a way to blow up vehicles. Right now the professional class can only use primary and secondary and the problem is that the secondary isn´t that strong and a bolt action rifle dosn´t have a too high RPM, so its really difficult to destroy vehicles. So i feel kind of helpless if there is anything bigger than a car nearby. I´d personally like to get breaking charge just like we had c4 in BF4.

  • Gorodish 07.03.14 at 14:06

Sheesh, EA apparently only payed attention to the ‘beta feedback’ that would make Hardline even MORE like Battlefield 3 and 4; more speed, more spam, less in the way of original features…

The mod, er game was actually pretty interesting in its original format; had EA & friends had the balls moral courage to deliver something truly original it might have been interesting.

The best summery comment I’ve seen so far was on another blog, where SuicideKing said: “t’ll be a shame if it’s actually a good game, but everyone’s too cynical to buy it.

It’ll be a bigger shame if everyone thinks like that, buys it, and it turns out to be the same crap-fest that modern EA games more than often turn out to be.”

But generally this Battlefield blog post is already shame…

  • WildestMedusa53 07.03.14 at 13:42

When is Battlefield Hardline beta coming out on xbox 360?

  • Bush_Killa-73 07.03.14 at 12:44

Survivalist completely ruined the game for me. Unless they remove it then it will always be a joke of a Battlefield game. There’s no place for a feature that means you have to nurse a dead corpse just incase it suddenly comes back to life. Being killed by someone whom you’ve fair & square killed with skill is about as unrewarding gameplay as you can get. This is COD inspired stuff aimed at children. Please have more respect for your audience & BF players.

    • BatmanLugter 07.03.14 at 14:38

I completely agree. It dosn´t belong in the game…

  • ChiefMigos 07.03.14 at 11:11

Take a more Payday oriented theme with how the criminals look.

  • HellcatM 07.03.14 at 09:36

Increasing the running speed is ok but do this test. Get an air soft gun and try hitting targets while running and jumping. Get a cop or someone from the military to do so as well. Take those results and re-create them in the game.

Also I’d love to see a cover system in the game.

  • lx_Terrorized_xl 07.03.14 at 07:38

Make the parachute a gadget not a permanent thing for Cops and Robbers to have

    • GOUDAHELL 07.03.14 at 16:00

why the fuck would you want that you nerd

      • TrueGamer739 07.03.14 at 17:39

lol true that so fucking dumb, parachute has always been like that since what? BC2? n now u wanna make it a gadget? wtf is wrong with u , so id have to use a space just to be able to parachute? I think NOT

      • IcoNicQuicKShot 07.10.14 at 18:29

What cop or robber would have a parachute? It’s his or her opinion also

  • insurgentt 07.03.14 at 07:25

I would like EA’s executive management to forgo salary in order to buy copies of Battlefield Hardline for everyone who purchased Battlefield 4 new.

  • oyvindhauge 07.03.14 at 07:23

Please, please remove survivalist. It is extremely counter team-work oriented. We want players who provide med packs and revive their team mates. We do not want dead people suddenly returning to the world of the living and stabbing you in the back. I think that having to wait over every corpse, will make the game so much slower.

    • HellcatM 07.03.14 at 09:41

I totally agree with what you said. I’m not the best player by far but I’d rather die and wait till the round is over than keep spawning. Spawning creates dumb play because people know they don’t have any consequences.

    • Bush_Killa-73 07.03.14 at 12:40

      Exactly mate

  • BeaverGear 07.03.14 at 07:22

    Visceral,
The beta played great. As a day-one Battlefield 1942 old schooler, I’ve owned and religiously played each and every release, including the console specific Bad Company games. As a dedicated BFer, I can say with confidence that Hardline felt a lot like Bad Company 2, which is the highest praise I could possibly drop on your efforts. Keep pushing the direction you’re going and you’ll have a guaranteed hit on your hands. And not just a big seller, as the Battlefield name alone guarantees you a hefty amount of units moved, but you’ll also get the critical praise that comes with doing a great job.

More importantly, and the rest of the public doesn’t seem to understand this, you’re starting your Battlefield legacy behind the 8 ball. All the goodwill that DICE earned building this brand was brought crumbling to the ground after BF4 came out as a glitchy craziest. I’ve never seen a situation like this before and wish you all the luck in the world righting a wrong you had nothing to do with.

That all being said, I have only one complaint. You absolutely must eliminate the survivalist gadget. I’m referring to the bring yourself back to life shot thing. While no video game is grounded in reality, the Battlefield series at least attempted to create a more realistic environment than the competition. That factor alone is what made you, you and them, well, them. Doing anything to bring you closer to the competition is just wrong wrong wrong. People aren’t zombies who can give themselves a shot after they’re dead. And beyond that, the self-revival option completely changes the mechanics of the game, both in strategy and enjoyment. In other words, when you and your squad are trying to take a flag, overpowering the opposition in numbers (A big part of BF is teamwork) and with multiple classes feels good. It encourages people to work together and to bring real strategy to the table instead of run and gun. And self revival takes away all of that, or at least muddies the water. Today in Battlefield, if you miss a guy flanking you, your buddy can drop him from behind or at a distance or angle, and there’s a moment of relief. With self revival, he can pop right up again and possibly ruin that great moment of teamwork. And to the guy who just saved you, who made the last second heroic shot, he might possibly get killed by the zombie guy and the word “CHEAP” will most certainly come to mind. And I know that word is equal to a curse or blasphemy in the world of FPS multiplayer development. Get rid of it.

    • AndrewMilky 07.05.14 at 16:51

You make some really good points, I think I’ve changed my mind. Yeah, I like the epi pen/revival pen, but BeaverGear’s right, the self resurrection shot is exactly the type of thing that would be in Call of Duty or any other game that is all about only worrying about yourself.

I really like the way defib paddles work in bf3 (referring to killing an enemy with them). You had to aim at an exact spot to actually cause “R on T Phenomenon” (technically) which is landing an electric shock during the repolarization of the heart, causing it to go into ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia (both killing you). I think the epi pen should still work even if you miss the heart area on the enemy. It would be cool as hell if you hit an enemy with it, missing the heart, so instead of killing him, you cause him to run faster and increase shakiness/anxiety, lowering his ability to aim down sights steadily for like 5 minutes or until he next spawns, whichever happens first.

  • SuperDantendo 07.03.14 at 07:03

i would like the ability to customize loadouts prior to selecting a gametype

  • SenorPooter 07.03.14 at 06:16

I loved the game, but please PLEASE fix those annoying car horns. they are horrible and dont even sound like an actual car horn.

  • Guny6 07.03.14 at 04:51

I would like to see them change the cops to look like real SWAT or even better Counter-Terrorism Unit because in this game they don’t look like any law enforcement unit Iv ever seen!

  • GreenWaveGamer 07.03.14 at 03:24

As much as I love Visceral as a studio there are just too many red flags for me to consider buying this game. After the BF4 launch (which admittedly BF4 has improved a lot since release, though that is no excuse for the crappy launch) I will probably never preorder a game again. Also, I don’t think i can bring myself to buy a BF game where you can self revive. It completely goes against the teamwork oriented gameplay of BF and I liken it to martyrdom from COD4 (extremely frustrating no skill perk/gadget in this case)

  • I CrossBones I 07.03.14 at 02:48

Looks like Visceral is really gonna make this a much better launch than BF4. I’m so excited, I guess EA realized how bad they messed up with 4 and wanna listen this time around. Thanks!

  • SamFixEA 07.03.14 at 02:15

Devs – the sluggish movement is caused by the half speed arm animation when sprinting (arms and legs move in sync for bf3/4). Simply increasing the speed won’t take away the sluggishness when sprinting with primaries.

    • I CrossBones I 07.03.14 at 02:49

I for one never noticed the movement any slower than BF4. They def needed to add the pistol speed increase though!

  • fds_poa 07.03.14 at 01:52

Sorry, but after the failure of BETAfield 4 and incompetence of the DICE to repair the bugged game that continues nearly a year after the launch, I would not give another dollar to you. FIX BF4, IMPROVE SERVERS, RESPECT DLC LAUNCH DATES, GIVE US REAL FEEDBACK, then you can made new games.

    • wtrmlnjuc 07.03.14 at 05:47

Visceral is developing this, DICE is focusing on 4.

  • Swolenator 07.03.14 at 01:51

Also I still think survivalist should be able to revive teammates maybe it won’t be as useful with the changes that are coming but before I think a lot of people probably just ran medkit and survivalist.

  • Swolenator 07.03.14 at 01:43

Looks good I would still love it if it was much easier to hear enemy vehicles coming in the beta they were dead silent. I would also like the in car sounds to be a little more amplified and for the motorcycle to have that more high pitched sound or any better sound. http://youtu.be/zVCPBYmaQbc?t=37s Hope to see them get bumped up the cars sound good just not loud enough.

  • Cit1es 07.03.14 at 01:25

As well put a huge focus on netcode and tickrate. add all the fireworks and ballons after the game is 100% awesome to play.

  • Cit1es 07.03.14 at 01:24

I’m saying this in all caps so you understand how important it really is. anyone in the real world can do it.. the lack of it is pretty ridiculous.. THE ABILITY TO COOK A GRENADEEEE. cannot believe it wasn’t already in bf4…or even bf3 to be honest.

    • wtrmlnjuc 07.03.14 at 05:48

Nobody “cooks” a grenade in real life, it’s a foolish thing to do and it endangers you and your fellow soldiers.

    • towelee6 07.03.14 at 06:13

you can cook them… idk how to do it mouse and keyboard but both bf3 and bf4 have it on PC and Xbox if you use the controller you hold the grenade button and primary fire and he hold it for a longer throw also

    • GOUDAHELL 07.03.14 at 16:02

NO DUDE, NO COOKING GRENADES, otherwise it will all be like impact grenades, no thanks.

  • jew1 07.03.14 at 00:43

is RUSH mode in HARDLINE ?

  • chiefpounderhrd 07.03.14 at 00:28

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg__HG6sJxU cant wait for this game check out my video made through sharefactory!

  • TheDustfinger 07.03.14 at 00:20

I would love to see if you would make the game more asymmetrical in hardcore mode.
What i mean by that is gadgets and vehicles that are exclusive to either cops or robbers.
    So cops exclusives would be:
Tazers, Riot shields, Bear cats and Armored SUVs with gatlin guns.
    Criminals exlusives are:
Rocket launchers (definitely RPGs, not sure about stingers), Knives and frag grenades.
(Cops not having RPGs would be balanced by the fact that the criminals dont have armored vehicles besides the spawn truck.)
Keep in mind im talking about hardcore mode, normal gameplay wouldn’t be affected.
This would just give people who like a little bit of realism more incentive to play hardore mode.

    • wtrmlnjuc 07.03.14 at 05:49

That’d be cool and it’d make it feel different from the equally balanced infantry of BF4.

  • BujinStudent 07.02.14 at 23:32

That’s too bad about Survivalist, I actually liked it a lot as it was – it made me go for headshots more often and make sure someone was really down so I felt it actually raised the skill level, kind of added more “gameplay” elements to it.

  • BatmanLugter 07.02.14 at 23:30

You should completely remove survivalist. It’s not fair that you have to double check the People that you just killed because they might otherwise kill you

  • jake mcmuffin 07.02.14 at 22:36

I wish they would implement an animation to “push” or “nudge” vehicles instead of hitting them with a melee attack to make them move. I think that would be much more immersive and cooler. Plus it would make more sense that your character has to move the object with their hands instead of beating it to a pulp with a bat or another melee weapon.

  • Paunchyzz 07.02.14 at 22:08

No SURVIVALIST should be removed not nerf.

I agree with DOOKERS04 on R1/L1 swap for PS4! I bet if Xbox users experienced it they’d think it was better too. Anyway, just make character movement & gun mechanics like BF3 as well.

    • Arppis 07.02.14 at 22:07

Yeah, this. I like that they added it to BF4. Shooting feels way more responsive without the empty space between presses.

***Very important***hard to explain.(in battlefield 4)we are always getting killed after from hiding behind the wall when we try to turn the corner to hide.It like a little delay.Wall supposed to protect us from machine gun.I got the xbox one so make sure please that is been fix for Hardline if you can.thank you

I am sorry to inform you EA/Dice that CMW is already existing onto a community :http://www.cmwgaming.com/index.html

  • UnSuccessFulNOOB 07.02.14 at 20:44

Imagine seeing you again! Hey Talent! (From the BF3 days)

  • xpc_absol 07.02.14 at 20:43

Survivalist still needs to be made into a team mate activated revive. Not self revive.

    • acequake91 07.02.14 at 21:01

Then whats the point of it? There is already a revive syringe, so If its teammate activated you might aswell not have it at that point.

Woah, a lot of these changes came from some of my comments and other comments over at Reddit. They are listening: http://www.reddit.com/r/BF_Hardline/comments/296pyt/serious_replies_beta_is_over_what_are_your/

  • Dune Jumper 07.02.14 at 19:34

    These changes sound nice.

  • MasterTheHero 07.02.14 at 19:29

Though I like the changes, I’m not sure if this is ground breaking enough that I want to pay full price for this game yet. I really need to see the other game modes and maps before I could make a final purchase decision.

In other news: Here’s the video of me playing with the Visceral devs. http://youtu.be/W_ciYqwQazk

  • Scheepybird 07.02.14 at 19:19

Another thing I wanted to see on the list was more environmental destruction..

  • Shiroiikiba 07.02.14 at 19:01

Amazing! This changes everything. This well be best bf4 yet!!! Run speed go!

  • iDarKOnTTG 07.02.14 at 18:56

Thank you for listening to us, I really appreciate it, hyped for the game now.

  • DOOKERS04 07.02.14 at 18:53

Please add customization for PS4 version to allow L1/R1 to aim/fire. Need this option in order to purchase.

  • Edgemasters 07.02.14 at 18:51

This is awesome! It’s already better than bf4!

  • StrangeTalent 07.02.14 at 18:46

Great work EA…Make our communtiy tags look awful by introducing CMW. We’re the original CMW guys, jeez.

  • SharkBaiT 07.02.14 at 18:42

Sounds good in general, but I don’t like #9. Weak spots in a heavy vehicle? Sure, people are good at complaining on what kills them, but really, all it took was a few RPG shots and the heavily armed vehicles were down. Also, the attack chopper can do significant damage to the heavy vehicles on ground (nice BF rock paper scissor-style there).

  • TheAnnapolisGuy 07.02.14 at 18:38

Great to see feedback used in a positive way

  • MrProWestie 07.02.14 at 18:38

Great to see these issues being highlighted, acknowledged and fed back to the community. Keep moving forwards guys, and you’ll be onto a winner with Hardline :)

  • Birdsht 07.02.14 at 18:37

I played untold hours and really enjoyed it. I have played every battlefield game and mod since 1942 and this one is already showing great promise. My friends and I had good fun and I have not seen teamwork like that in ages. Well done from a very critical person. I will be buying for sure!

  • Yingerman 07.02.14 at 18:37

Thanks for releasing an actual BETA, rather than a demo. The BF3 and BF4 Betas felt like a joke, but I feel like you guys actually listened to the community and made definite changes with this one. Keep it up!

  • hsram 07.02.14 at 18:30

Keep up the good work and never stop listening to the community, once you do this the game dies.
